Founded by the French Marnier-Lapostolle family in Chile in 1994. The Marnier-Lapostolle family, founders and owners of the world-renowned liqueur, Grand Marnier, have been involved in winemaking for generations. In creating Casa Lapostolle, the family has pursued the same uncompromising approach to quality that made Grand Marnier a world-wide success. Their objective is as simple as it is ambitious: to create world-class wines using French expertise and the superb terroir of Chile.
The range of wines consists of our 3 ranges. The first range is called the
Casa Range which are Reserva style varietal wines. The second range is called the
Cuvee Alexandra Range which is a world class range and rated 90+ points by all wine magazines. While the top wine is called
Clos Apalta which is an estate wine and is made in its own gravity fed winery. The 2005 vintage has recently been awarded 96 points by the Wine Spectator and rated No. 1 in their 2008 Top 100, This is the highest rating for a Chilean wine to date! That this wine has been so highly rated is not a once off. Two other vintages during the past 5 years have been in the Top 3.
